About the role

Cuts beams, plate, tanks and structural steel into sizes that mills and foundries accept. The role works with oxygen and fuel gas every day, so it calls for discipline with hot work permits, cylinders and fire watch.

What you will do

  • Cut steel to the sizes set for each grade and buyer.
  • Inspect hoses, regulators and cylinders before every shift.
  • Check material for sealed vessels or residues before cutting.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience with oxy-fuel cutting in a yard or workshop
  • Strict about hot work safety and fire prevention
  • Able to read simple sizing instructions
